🔒 Privacy-first — your scans never leave your device

1. Introduction

Welcome to OneScan. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. OneScan is designed so that all processing happens entirely on your device — we have no servers that receive your scanned content.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Create

Scanned documents — Captured images are processed locally and saved to your device storage. Never uploaded.
QR and barcode results — Decoded data (URLs, contacts, WiFi) is stored locally in your scan history only.
PDF files — Generated PDFs are saved to your device's local storage only.

2.2 What We Do NOT Collect

    We collect zero personal data. No name, no email, no location, no device ID, no usage analytics, no scanned content — nothing is sent to any server.
  

3. Permissions Required

Camera

Used only to scan documents, QR codes, and barcodes. Camera data is processed in real time on your device and never transmitted. Images are captured only when you tap the capture button.

Storage / Media

Used to save PDFs to your device, read gallery images for QR scanning, and store the local scan history database. All files remain entirely on your device.

4. Local Data Storage

OneScan uses a local SQLite database (Room) stored on your device to maintain scan history and starred items. This database never leaves your device and is not synced to any cloud service by OneScan. You can clear it anytime from Settings → Clear All History.

5. Third-Party Libraries

OneScan uses the following libraries — all of which operate fully on-device with no external data transmission:

We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash reporting services that transmit data to external servers.

6. Links from QR Codes

When you scan a QR code containing a URL and choose to open it, you are directed to your device's browser. At that point the destination website's privacy policy applies. OneScan has no control over external websites.

7. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, its security depends on your device's security settings. We recommend securing your device with a PIN, password, or biometric lock.

8. Children's Privacy

OneScan is not directed to children under 13. Since we collect no personal data from any user, there is no special risk to children's data. The app does not contain any content inappropriate for children.

9. Your Controls

View history — All scans visible in the History screen
Delete a scan — Tap delete on any item in History
Clear all history — Settings → Clear All History
Delete PDFs — PDF Tools screen or device Files app
Revoke camera — Device Settings → Apps → OneScan → Permissions
Uninstall — Removes all app data from your device

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
